Dark teas (Puer, Liu Bao,...)

Dark teas, also known as hei cha (黑茶), represent a unique category in the Chinese tea world. These post-ripened teas, such as Puerh from Yunnan Province and Liu Bao from Guangxi Province, are made through natural fermentation or controlled aging.

Their flavors are earthy, deep, soft and often mineral, oily, with dates and other dried fruits, or similar to the autumn forest, becoming richer and more harmonious over the years.

These teas are excellent choices for those looking for a gentle yet full-bodied tea that supports digestion, is gentle on the stomach, and provides a pleasant, balanced experience. They are ideal for everyday tea drinking – or even a leisurely evening cup of tea.

Teavolution story

In 2013, a couple of Taiwanese oolongs brought a big smile to our faces, starting us on the journey of tea.
Since then, we have roamed the growing regions, met the producers, and made friendships and had experiences.

For us, good tea is one whose history we know,
who made it, when and where, how it was grown and processed, and we can connect to this tea, the region where it was grown, and the people.
