The bamboo matcha brush is one of the most important tools in Japanese tea culture. It helps to mix matcha gently and without lumps, making the texture of the drink silkier, more uniform and more enjoyable.

The classic chasen is not only practical, but also closely related to the experience of making matcha. Its fine fibers allow the matcha to have a light, frothy surface, while the movements of preparation slow down and invite you to be more attentive. A well-chosen brush is not just an accessory, but part of the quiet, orderly beauty of matcha making.

Before use, it is a good idea to dip the brush briefly in warm water to make the bamboo fibers more flexible. After use, rinse with clean water and carefully remove any matcha stuck between the fibers. The use of detergent is not recommended as it can damage the natural structure of the bamboo.

To ensure a longer life, let the brush dry thoroughly, preferably upright. A kusenaoshi , or brush holder, also helps to maintain its shape.
