Organic GABA Oolong
Organic, high-GABA oolong tea from Taiwan — with a calming effect.
Origin and processing
This GABA Oolong semi-fermented tea is made in a special way: the leaves are fermented in an oxygen-free, nitrogen-filled environment, which converts natural glutamic acid (Glu) into GABA . The technology was developed in Japan in 1984 and is now most commonly used in Taiwan to produce premium GABA teas.
Impact and quality
GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid) is an important neurotransmitter in the central nervous system, known for its calming effects. This tea is especially suitable for evening relaxation or calming down after stressful days. It comes from organic farming, from a reliable Taiwanese producer, directly purchased.
Flavor profile
- Aroma: slightly fruity, with aromas of dried apples and apricots.
- Taste: silky, soft texture, with dried fruit notes and soft acidity.
- Aftertaste: long, soothing finish with slight spicy nuances.
Consumption recommendation
- Asian (gongfu) method: 5–6 g of tea per 100 ml of water, 90–95 °C, several short infusions (20–40 sec).
- Western method: 3 g / 250 ml water, 90 °C, 2–3 minute soak, 2–3 infusions.
- Cold brew: 5 g of tea to 500 ml of cold water, in the refrigerator for 6–8 hours to make a refreshing drink.

Personal contact
Our teas don't come from wholesale warehouses or unknown sources. We travel to the small producers we source from – whether it's a Japanese family tea garden, a Chinese mountain village or an oolong maker in Taiwan.
Stories
We meet them in person, learn their story, see how they care for their plants, and how they process the fresh leaves.
These experiences are the soul of our teas. This way, not only is the quality guaranteed, but also the fact that behind each cup there is a real person, a real story.
Direct
This direct relationship is valuable to us. Not only because of the excellent tea, but because we believe that trust, respect and personal presence are what make the tea drinking experience truly special.
