This 2026 spring Sencha 'Oosawa' is a special mountain tea from tea producer Ryoichi Uchino, hailing from one of Shizuoka's exciting, volcanic growing regions. It's the very first fresh harvest of spring, made from young shoots that emerge after their winter dormancy. This results in a flavor that simultaneously presents freshness, richness, and that subtle green energy that only fresh spring Japanese mountain teas can offer.

Ryoichi Uchino's teas are characterized by a rich, clean mountain aroma. The cup's scent is fresh, vegetal, slightly floral, and its taste reveals the elegant world of Shizuoka mountain senchas: it's not heavy or seaweed-like, but layered, lively, and naturally deep.
By paying attention to not too high a temperature and shorter steeping times, we can coax out a delicate umami, but the virtue of this tea lies in its vibrant, rich flavor, which should not be overdone, and its rich aftertaste should also be appreciated!

A rare item, especially recommended for those seeking a robust, multi-infusion traditional mountain sencha, and for whom a rich finish and a long, round aftertaste are important!

Preparation suggestion, which is truly worth following here. :-)
3 g tea leaves
100 ml water
70 °C
60–75 seconds

With this preparation ratio, the tea's delicate umami, mountain aroma, and fresh, clean finish will be beautifully balanced. The temperature can be increased for subsequent infusions!
