Mi Xiang Oolong – Taiwan’s “honey-scented” wonder
Mi Xiang is not just a tea – it is the taste of nature’s delicate defense. Before harvest, tea bushes are nibbled by tiny leafhoppers; in response, the plant releases substances that, to the human senses, are condensed into floral, fruity, silky-sweet aromas.
In the cup, this “honey aroma” appears clear and long, with a soft body and a soothingly round finish, with a long smile-inducing aftertaste.
Taste and aroma profile
- Scent: orange blossom honey, fine pollen, light tropical fruit overtones
- Taste: silky, medium body; hints of mango and passion fruit, with a butterscotch-rum warmth at the end
- Finish: long sweet ( hui gan ), clean, cool and fresh feeling
Mood & pairing
Perfect for afternoon "flow" tea: balanced, not heavy, yet deep. Great for quiet reading or delicious, not too sweet desserts (almond cookies, natural milk chocolate).
Preparation tip
- Gongfu: 6 g / 100–120 ml, 95 °C, short infusions (10–15 sec, then +5–10 sec)
- Western: 3 g / 250 ml, 90–95 °C, 2:30–3:00 minutes
Personal contact
Our teas don't come from wholesale warehouses or unknown sources. We travel to the small producers we source from – whether it's a Japanese family tea garden, a Chinese mountain village or an oolong maker in Taiwan.
Stories
We meet them in person, learn their story, see how they care for their plants, and how they process the fresh leaves.
These experiences are the soul of our teas. This way, not only is the quality guaranteed, but also the fact that behind each cup there is a real person, a real story.
Direct
This direct relationship is valuable to us. Not only because of the excellent tea, but because we believe that trust, respect and personal presence are what make the tea drinking experience truly special.
