Chocolate brown Takasuke kyusu jug - 260 ml

Teapot from Takasuke kiln, Tokoname (Japan). A precise and stylish unglazed side-handled kyusu, produced by reduction firing - giving it its characteristic dark-matte (chocolate brown) finish. Ideal for everyday Japanese green teas .

What kind of teas do we recommend?

  • For Japanese green teas: sencha, gyokuro, kabusecha, kukicha.
  • It can also be used for light white teas or lighter oolongs, depending on taste.

Usage – quick guide

  1. Preheating: rinse the kettle with hot water, then pour it out.
  2. Dosage: guideline ratio is approximately 1 g / 50–70 ml (can be adjusted according to taste).
  3. Brewing: work at the right temperature for the tea, using short, controlled infusions.
  4. Pouring: Empty completely – for a consistent taste.

Handling and cleaning

  • Remove the tea leaves after each use and let them dry completely.
  • Do not put the lid back on the can until it is dry .
  • Do not use dishwashing detergent. Remove tea stains resulting from use with baking soda and water .
