Ruby Black tea, also known as “Red Jade” or “Taiwan Tea #18”, is an exceptional Taiwanese black tea that offers tea lovers an unparalleled experience. This tea is grown in the Yuchi area of Taiwan, around the picturesque Sun Moon Lake, where local tea growers have perfected the art of tea cultivation for generations.
Flavor
Ruby Black tea has a rich and complex flavor profile that takes the senses on a unique journey. The first sips are refreshing with a hint of mint, followed by a subtle caramel sweetness. The aftertaste unfolds with subtle notes of cinnamon and eucalyptus, providing a long, pleasant finish.
History
The history of Ruby Black tea dates back to the work of the Taiwan Tea Research and Development Station (TRES), which developed this special tea variety in the late 20th century. Also known as “Ruby No. 18,” the tea was created by crossing a Burmese Assam tea with a wild tea plant from Taiwan. The unique climate and soil conditions of the Sun Moon Lake area provide the perfect environment for this tea, which quickly became popular both in Taiwan and internationally.
Preparation suggestion
When brewing Ruby Black tea, it is important to maintain the correct water temperature and steeping time to ensure the full flavor of the tea is released. For best results, follow these steps:
Tea quantity : Use 5 grams of tea leaves for 120 ml of water.
Water temperature : It is ideal to use water at 85°C.
Steeping time : For the first infusion, let the tea steep for 20 seconds. For subsequent infusions, gradually increase the steeping time, for example, 20 seconds for the first infusion, then 35, 50, 65 seconds for subsequent infusions.
Number of infusions : Ruby Black tea can be infused multiple times, you can enjoy the changing flavors of the tea up to 6-7 times.
When preparing, it is worth considering your personal preferences and adjusting the water temperature, steeping time and amount of tea accordingly. With the right technique, the rich and complex flavors of Ruby Black tea will fully unfold, providing an unforgettable tea-drinking experience.

Personal contact
Our teas don't come from wholesale warehouses or unknown sources. We travel to the small producers we source from – whether it's a Japanese family tea garden, a Chinese mountain village or an oolong maker in Taiwan.
Stories
We meet them in person, learn their story, see how they care for their plants, and how they process the fresh leaves.
These experiences are the soul of our teas. This way, not only is the quality guaranteed, but also the fact that behind each cup there is a real person, a real story.

Direct
This direct relationship is valuable to us. Not only because of the excellent tea, but because we believe that trust, respect and personal presence are what make the tea drinking experience truly special.
