Are you stuck on how to choose from our teas?

It is really easy to prepare, has a pleasant aroma reminiscent of freshly cut grass, has floral and citrus notes, and is a must for tea lovers. It can also be said to have a sweeter character due to the higher stem content.

It comes from Kagoshima, in the south-western part of Japan. It is made from first-picked Sencha leaves and stems. The tea stem itself is selected separately during the post-harvest processing of Japanese teas, as part of the refining process. It is usually marketed as a separate tea and is very popular due to its lower caffeine content and in roasted form. Karigane is a term used in the Kyoto region, the loose tea itself is called kukicha.

It contains more vitamin C than other types of green tea and has a slightly nutty, slightly creamy sweet taste. Sencha bushes are exposed to direct sunlight, which is why they taste refreshing with a pleasant aftertaste.

It is perfect for everyday tea, refreshing, starting the day or even as a complement to friendly conversations.

Preparation:

Prepare 5 g of tea leaves with 80-degree water, which has a low mineral content. Good-tasting spring water with a total mineral content of less than 200 mg/l is most ideal. Use a 200 ml pot for this type of tea and it can be poured several times, counting with 1-2 minute infusions.

In general, you can read about the Sencha tea type here, among our blog posts.
