Mi Xiang – honey oolong

3260 Ft

Spring 2023 - Fruity Taiwanese oolong with floral honey aroma. Acacia honey is prominent in it, its aftertaste is long and makes you smile. Before harvest, this tea was stung by tiny green insects, which set off a chain reaction in the leaves that eventually created a unique honey-like flavor in the leaves. This bug-bitten Mi Xiang oolong has aromas of orange blossom honey, a rich, dense body reminiscent of tropical mango and passion fruit, and a buttery rum finish.

A truly special oolong tea.

In 2019, when we visited Minhan in Meishan Mountain, Taiwan in September, we were curious to see what the new picking of this tea would be like. Many of you may be familiar with the previous vintage, which had a floral-honey character. Thanks to the warmer summer, this tea has become more characteristically honeyed, more acacia than mixed flowers.
It is worth preparing it with longer soakings, approx. Using 90 degree water. It is practical to choose a high design Taiwanese can for it so that there is room for the leaves to open.

For its preparation, use soft water with a low mineral content. The amount of tea should be 6-7 grams for a 150-200 ml device. Start the water temperature at 85-90 degrees and you can raise it continuously. The duration of the first pouring should be 1 minute.
